Our next Red Letter release is almost here!
Red Letter is our ode to our founder, John Philip Wiser. Dating back to the early days of his distillery’s founding in 1857, it is said that Red Letter Rye was the whisky that J.P. himself shared with family and friends. Inspired by our founder, we have re-released this whisky as a Distillery Edition – available only to our friends and family who visit us at our distillery in Windsor, Ontario or at our home on the Web.
Finished in new oak barrels as J.P. Wiser would have done all those years ago, this 15-year-old whisky has characteristic notes of green apple, vanilla and toffee along with dried fruit and clove. The new oak finish imparts elements of wood spice and toasted oak, making this a complex yet sippable whisky perfect for sharing special moments with others.

Red Letter is proudly produced in our Windsor, Ontario distillery. Here's a brief history of this Canadian classic.
Averell and Egert buy the Charles Payne Distillery in Prescott, Ontario. J.P. Wiser operates the distillery as general manager.
Wiser buys out Averell and Egert's shares of the distillery and becomes the sole owner. He immediately increases production to over one hundred and fifteen thousand gallons of whisky annually.
The two most popular whiskies produced at the distillery were Wiser’s Red Letter Rye and Wiser’s Canadian Whiskey. DID YOU KNOW?Product that was shipped to the US was spelled 'whiskey' and product that was sold in Canada was spelled 'whisky' (without an e): clever marketing for the 1870s!
Corby Distilleries purchases the J.P. Wiser's distillery.
Red Letter Rye is trademarked.
J.P. Wiser's whiskies are produced out of Corbyville, Ontario.
J.P. Wiser's production moves to Windsor, Ontario.
Dr. Don Livermore is appointed Master Blender. He continues the legacy of Red Letter - and many other - of our distillery's whiskies.
